If you’re anything like me, you have about 3 or 4 computers that you conduct business from.  It’s damned frustrating to be in one location and not have the spreadsheet or graphics that you need to get a job done.  I hated having to constantly write and re-write data to a thumbdrive and have to carry that bitch around with me everywhere I went.

A few months ago, I discovered a paid service from RackSpace called JungleDisk.  It’s basically a client app you install on all your computers, and it creates a network drive that connects you to RackSpace’s cloud for data storage.  This means you can access any data saved here from any computer you have the app installed.

I’ve been using that for the past few months, and it’s worked out well, but today I discovered Glide OS.  Taking this shit to a ‘whole nutha level’, Glide OS allows you to have access to a cloud desktop where you can not only store shit, but you can create, modify, and share data with other people.  A 30GB account is free, and should be plenty for most users.  The only requirements are you have to have a browser with Flash v10 installed (they recommend Firefox).

They also have an app available for your mobile phone which gives you access into your cloud desktop.  But it looks like it’s only available for Android and Blackberry devices right now (no iPhone, what the fuck?).

Check it out and thanks me later…
