Pay Up!

Have you ever had a network that didn’t pay you or made you jump through hoops just to receive a payment for leads/sales that you generated? I think most of have or will at some point in our lives. This is less of an informative post and more of a rant.
I’m not going to name names, but I recently started running traffic with one of the better known affiliate networks. Things were working out great at first, and I really enjoy working with these guys since they really seem to ‘get it’. Anyway, over the course of a few weeks I generated about $800 worth of leads with a particular campaign that I was breaking even with. Not too bad to start off with, it was a fairly mainstream offer and I was only tapping one traffic source for initial testing.
So, time came for me to get paid and I discovered that I hadn’t submitted a piece of information for payment. No sweat, I sent the information to my AM and the accounting dept and away we go – or so I thought.
A week or two goes by, no check in the mail. I take a look at my account, and it still hasn’t been updated with the piece of information I had provided. I contacted my AM, he looked into it, and got that fixed. Ok, now it’s payment time…
Needless to say, it’s 4 weeks later and I’ve been ‘promised’ the check has gone out about 2 or 3 times. What the fuck man?
My AM is a cool guy and I don’t necessarily think he’s to blame. He seems to be doing everything to get my payment going. The problem seems to be in the accounting department. All of my e-mails to them have gone unanswered and it seems like they either don’t have their shit together or they just don’t give a shit.
Hopefully they get it together because I’d really like to continue working with this network. Since all this went down, I’ve suspended all my traffic to this network. No sense in sending them leads/sales when they don’t pay me shit, right? At this point, even if I do get payment, I’m going to be weary running any large amounts of traffic to this network if it’s going to take 6 weeks to get my fucking money. Grrr…
